Shangri-La Bosphorus, Istanbul

Nous avons particulièrement apprécié la qualité de l’accueil et le professionnalisme du personnel de la réception. Les équipements, l’emplacement, la décoration soignée ainsi que le confort du lit ont grandement contribué à rendre notre séjour agréable. Une mention spéciale pour le petit-déjeuner, varié et de grande qualité, qui a été un véritable point fort de notre séjour.

Nous avons dîné au restaurant de l’établissement et avons été quelque peu déçus. Nous nous attendions à une cuisine plus savoureuse. La portion de mantı était plutôt petite et les pâtes, bien que correctes, ne nous ont pas particulièrement marqués.

The location is extremely convenient and easily accessible. The sea front location with the Ferry Terminal just behind the hotel makes it more attractive.

Excellent location right on the Bosphorus with beautiful views. The breakfast was delicious, with a great variety of fresh options. I also enjoyed the Michelin-recommended Chinese restaurant in the hotel — the food was outstanding.

here were a few disappointing points during our stay. During busy holiday periods, the breakfast service was understaffed. Waiting times were long, and sometimes we had to get up ourselves to order coffee. More staff during peak periods would make a big difference. We were also disappointed that no flexibility was offered regarding a room upgrade. The additional charge for a balcony room was very high. The bathroom fixtures showed signs of wear, which was unexpected considering the room rate. In addition, the advertised Bosphorus view was only partial, with much of the view facing the museum area and service facilities. Finally,as Shangri-La Circle members, we were informed that we could enjoy afternoon tea in the lounge. However, these items were later charged to our room, which was confusing and disappointing. Clearer communication from the staff would have been appreciated. These issues were not what we expected from a five-star hotel.
