Grand Hyatt Taipei

We had a good, not amazing experience at the Grand Hyatt. The location was fantastic being close to the Taipei 101. The service was ok - I don't think anyone ever asked if we needed any help or if we needed anything but it wasn't bad by any means. Our connecting rooms were fine, decently clean but a bit dated. The rates were very good and fair for April. Prior to arriving, many online raved about the breakfast and there were certainly lot of choices. The food was good but it was hectic every morning. The hotel is large and so they get many business travelers, vacationers, and I'm sure many Hyatt point members. I felt I was dodging people every time I went to get something. In summary, I don't have any critical feedback but I also don't have much to rave about except the location. If you are looking for a nice place, fairly price and don't expect all the amenities, service of a 5 star hotel, then the Grand Hyatt is worth checking out.

Excellent check-in experience by Jessie. She was kind enough to send up a welcome gift for my special occasion. The rooms are spacious and we had a view of Taipei 101 although it was difficult to see the top. I wish the hotel had an observation level to view it at night. The bathroom was excellent with a walk-in rainhead shower and Balmain products. It could do with privacy glass for the toilet and a fan in the bathroom. The pool was an odd shape and too small for the size of the hotel. Breakfast was extensive with an array of cuisines and the fruit was exceptional with the pineapple being the best I’ve had. Even though breakfast was extremely busy and chaotic the staff were incredibly efficient and attentive. Elsie the floor manager took the time to ask how everything was going. The Grand Hyatt was located about 20minutes from downtown which would not suit everyone. It is right next to a Starbucks and the shops at Taipei 101. The staff were the standout at this property.

Great location, right in downtown core with direct connection to TWTC and Taipei 101. Excellent breakfast with lots of variety and good quality. Will go back in the future and recommend to my friends.
